I started eating SmartOnes breakfasts and entrees in January 2010.

I have lost a total of 23 lbs. so far. I find your meals very satisfying and full of flavor and taste.

I haven't been able to lose weight before, having tried all the latest fad diets out there.  But I have lost 1-2 lbs a week and kept it off by eating a breakfast, and 3-4 dinner entrees a day,  about 2-3 hours apart, plus a bag of microwave popcorn (not a lowfat one either) and a SmartOnes dessert after dinner (sometimes I eat 2 a night-they are so good)!!!

I have cheated very little on this because your foods are tasty and quick to prepare.

Thank You for your new breakfasts!!! I haven't been able to find the newest desserts yet but I am still looking!!

    • Description:

All of my adult life, through high school and college, I weighed 180-something.  After graduation, I was working in the mailroom of a large company.  They had this big scale to weigh the mail sacks and people used to weigh themselves for fun.  Everyone except me, of course.  Until one day, when no one was around, I decided to step on the scale, expecting to see 180-something.  I saw 217.  Thus began my weight loss journey.

After that, I was on and off lots of diets for years.  I’d join, lose some, quit, gain it back, over and over again.   Then in early 1997, I joined Weight Watchers.  I was sure that I was going to “do it” this time.  And I lost almost 60 pounds and made goal.  Thinking about weight loss had so taken over my life that I remember saying “I’ve lost the weight and am now in complete control of EVERYTHING in my life!”  I made goal on  January 8, 1998.

And on January 12, 1998, they found the tumor.

So much for being in complete control of my life.

Over the next few years, I became an expert in every medical test there is.  I also had a tearful reunion with my old friend, Comfort Food.  The good news was that I learned there were so many things that were more important than weight loss.  And, in learning that, I learned the truth about diets and other weight loss plans.  Weight Watchers is the only one I could live with.  I mean, really live with.

So I’ve started again.  I’m taking it slowly and still falter sometimes but, with Weight Watchers, it’s so easy to incorporate healthy eating into daily life, it’s becoming second nature to eat right and exercise.  Finally, I’ve found a weight-loss program that fits into my life.

  • Losing Weight With 3 Little Mo Losing Weight With 3 Little Monsters!

    • From: Tara52305
    • Description:

My husband and I live a very crazy and stressful life. We have 3 beautiful and crazy children- all under the age of 5. I vowed that I would get into shape after my third child was born, but found it really hard to get moving. My husband received orders to a base in California 2 months ago. We decided that the kids and I must stay behind to sell our home. I took this opportunity to lose weight and get into shape! I use a food and exercise journal to help me accomplish my goal. I eat 3 low fat, balanced meals a day, plus I snack on almonds and fruit. I try to do at least 30 minutes of cardio a day. That is really hard to do with 3 little kids in tow, but I have been successful on most days. I take many walks and bike rides. So far, I have lost 10 lbs and counting! If our house does not sell by the end of May, my husband will fly back to visit us. I am excited about surprising him with the new and leaner me!

      Hi,

I am new to the community and wanted to share that I turned 50 and wanted to be in shape for that milestone. I was always thin but gradually put on weight over the years. Then my husband bougth the Wii fit for the kids and was I shocked to see how much I really weighted.  This gave me the "push" to finally be honest and start losing weight.  I started exercising more and watching what I are.  I had lost 10 pounds but was stuck and decided to join Weight Watchers and am happy to say I am very close to my goal weight.

About 6 months ago I was told I was borderline diabetic.  I'm 54 years old and 1 of my doctors said "let's try controlling it with diet and weight loss."  My other doctor said "you should be put on medication right now, you can't control it with diet."  I started changing my life style.  I exercise with the Wii fit plus and have changed my husbands and my diets and started watching what I buy and what I eat.  I have lost 10 lbs and have brought my sugar level down and this time when I went to the second doctor I got a hand shake and a hearty congratulations.  I was on cloud 9.  Also my husband actually needed to lose weight more than me and he has enjoyed the foods I've been able to tempt him with, he exercises and walks and he has lost 14 lbs and his doctor was very proud of him.  I have tried for years to teach him it is life style change not dieting.  He has tried every trick in the book, pills, powders, drinks, diets, to no avail.  Now we're on to something and your meals help us to have more choices and more variety in our days.  Thanks.

Hello, I'm an overworked and overwhelmed 60-year-old with about 70 pounds to lose. My children are grown, but not all gone, so no empty nest.  I have been researching meal plans and comparing to see if I could find something that would work for me. SmartOnes is it! I don't want to work a plan that I have to be thinking about food all the time.  I tend to wait until I'm nearly sick from hunger before I try to find something quick to eat. More times than not, it would be something with no nutritional value at all because by this time, I don't have time to prepare something. Besides, my guys leave the kitchen a mess and by the time I get it clean up to my standards, there is no time for preparation. Need to get back to work.  So I found out from some friends about the Weight Watcher program and how it has changed over the years. When I found out I could get the SmartOnes freezer meals and stay on a plan, I was so excited. I asked my hubby to go to the store and buy all the different entrees that he thought I would like. (I don't eat red meat and very little chicken and fish).  Bless his heart, he spent $160 on SmartOnes meals AND DESERTS! I was so happy with his choices, and being able to have dessert that is already measured and counted for points.  I have been on the plan for about 2 weeks and have had no problem with wanting to "cheat." I generally have a SmartOnes entree for lunch or dinner, and a big salad for the other meal. This is a plan I can stay on indefinitely because everything I like is available to me in appropriate portions. The entrees are delicious and totally satisfying, and the desserts are too good to be true. I hope my local grocer keeps the shelves well-stocked, because I will be buying lots more SmartOnes in the months to come. It could not be any simpler or more satisfying.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

  • Losing for for my little siste Losing for for my little sister's big day

    • From: meanje2211
    • Description:

Last year, I went to the beach and wore a bikini...which really wasn't fair to everyone else there.  After looking at pictures of myself on that vacation (no photos in the bikini, thank goodness), I knew that I needed to lose weight.  With the knowledge of my little sister's upcoming wedding, which would star me as the maid of honor, I knew it was then or never...I had already decided that I never wanted to set eyes on pics of me from my brother's wedding, and I really didn't want a repeat of that.  So, after months of failed dieting, I joined Weight Watchers at the beginning of November, after hearing great things about the program from several of my co-workers.  At first, I thought that I would never make, keeping track of what I ate, measuring and weighing, counting points; who can do all that?  Me, that's who.  The poster child for spontaneity, herself!  In order to keep myself from splurging, my best friend and I made a permanent lunch date for Wednesdays, right before our staff meeting.  This way, I got to hang out with her during lunch one day a week for sure, and the bonus was that I wasn't hungry during our two to three hour meetings.  The other four days, I would bring my lunch, which always consisted of some variation of a Smart Ones meal, soup, and fresh fruit or veggies.  Water+Fiber=FILLING.  On the day of my sister's wedding, I had officially lost twenty pounds!  I felt confident and happy in my dress, and instead of worrying about how I looked, I was able to focus on my sister.  What a treat!!!

Now, the wedding is over, and I've given myself a new challenge...to quit smoking, but instead of gaining weight like most people do, I want to lose some more!  My boyfriend and I are going to try together, for ourselves, for each other, and for the future!

  • Diet Failures Are a Thing of t Diet Failures Are a Thing of the Past!

    • From: mswhizz
    • Description:

I have a lifetime of diet failures in my past, each one more painful than the last. That no longer matters though because with Weight Watchers I have learned not only how to lose weight but how to keep it off.

I struggled with my weight all my life. I went from being the "big girl" in elementary to flat out obese in my adult years. I tried every kind of weight loss product and gimmick that came around but was never able to keep the weight off. Failure after failure undermined what little self esteem I had until I finally just quit trying. I decided that I was just meant to be fat (and miserable). As you can imagine, the weight really began to pile on once I gave myself "permission" to be fat, so much so that eventually my doctor became concerned enough to suggest I have gastric bypass surgery. I know this will sound ridiculous but that really hurt my feelings because gastric bypass was for really fat people. HELLO! Talk about being in denial! I'll be honest, the thought of bypass surgery was tempting when I thought all I had to do was fork over a ton of money, get put to sleep and wake up not being able to each much so the fat just magically melted away. Well, after doing research, I found that my idealized picture of bypass was far from accurate. Turns out it certainly isn't that simple and it carries a lot of risks. The kicker for me though was that most bypass patients only lose 60% of the weight they need to lose. All that money and risk for only 60%! Not this girl! So I looked for other options. In all my past diet attempts, I had never tried Weight Watchers because I always told myself that "I don't need to go and pay them money every week, I know what I need to do." I look back on that now and just shake my head. What an idgit! Anyway, I joined Weight Watchers and the rest, as they say, is history. I lost 148 pounds and have been a lifetime member for almost a year now. I'm not saying it was all easy, I had my struggles like learning to eat breakfast ("what, are you kidding, I just got up") drink water ("people who drink water need to get a life") and exercise ("if I feel the need to exercise, I do the sensible thing and go lie down until it passes") (yes, those were all things I actually thought or said) as well as overcoming plateaus and the hardest of all, the unexpected death of my best friend. Through it all I never quit attending meetings and I learned though that none of that was any harder than being overweight and miserable. ("Fit is hard, fat is hard, choose your hard")  I often tell people I must be a really slow learner because it took all those of years of diet failures and my years with Weight Watchers to finally figure out for myself "it isn't a diet, it's a lifestyle." Thank you Weight Watchers for making all my failures a thing of the past!

  • Too young for heart disease Too young for heart disease

    • From: Foxtrotter
    • Description:

Before 11/16/2001,I was the picture of health.  But at the young age of 47, I underwent emergency open heart surgery to save my life.  I smoked, didn't watch what I ate, and considered myself too young to be worried about my health.   I was active on our horse farm and didn't have to worry much about weight gain.   But when the heart episode hit me, it was like hitting me in the head with a brick.   I stopped smoking but put on the weight that's associated with it.   Before I knew it, my 5'2" frame had ballooned up to almost 200 lbs.  I had to have back surgery and then was diagnosed with Type II diabetes.   My life was absolutely falling apart.   Reality just slapped me in the face.   In June 2009, I realized that that I had to do something NOW if I wanted to live to see a wonderful retirement with my husband!   I got the diabetes under control with the help of a wonderful doctor.   I started eating healthy by completely changing my diet to fruits, veggies, whole grains, and Smart Ones.   And it wasn't the struggle that I expected it to be.   If you eat healthy and observe portion control and set goals for yourself, you'll succeed.  I  have Smart Ones for lunch and have them for dinner at least 3 nights a week.   I'm eating the Salisbury Steak for lunch today.   Since June 2009, I have lost 42 lbs and feel great!   I can't see myself ever going back to the lifestyle that almost killed me.   So, thanks, Smart Ones, for the help you've given me!

  • Much More Than Just Looking Go Much More Than Just Looking Good in My Dress

    • From: primo6197
    • Description:

I started on my Weight Watchers journey 8 months before my wedding. My main goal was to look stunning in my wedding dress.  I had over 90 pounds to lose, and knew that I couldnt accomplish it all before I got married but knew I could lose a good amount before my wedding date of June 6th.

I started on my journey in October.  Like i stated before my only intentions at first were to just look as good as I could in my wedding dress. But I soon found out that my journey was much more then that. I realized I needed to get healthy for my future husband and children.  I was 25 years old weighing over 275 pounds.  Weight Watchers is an amazing program and it really gets you to think about healthy living and not "dieting".  I lost 50 pounds by my wedding in June. I maintained for the next few months as I adjusted to my new married life.  I got back on WW to finish what I started.  I am now 60 pounds down and about 35 from my WW goal.  I have started running, and I actually enjoy it. I am planning on my running my first 5k in April to help people become aware of Obesity.

My new goal is to reach my WW goal, and become part of the WW team. I would love to lead my own WW group at some point. Reach out to the 20 & 30 "somethings" and get the word out about healthy living.

  • My Masterpiece My Masterpiece

    • From: getsunshine
    • Description:

Sometimes the context of a particular meeting just sticks with you.  One meeting I was at early on in my journey talked about working on my "masterpiece."  On the bulletin board in the front of the room was a picture of the Mona Lisa.  My WW leader said that the artist, da Vinci, didn't paint the Mona Lisa in just a few minutes, but it was a piece that took time.  She stressed that our journey is going to take a different amount of time for each of us, and also that it's not realistic to expect to reach that goal overnight.  This is something that has reverberated inside of me, especially as newer members have seemingly sped past me onward to their successful goal.  Sometimes it's been difficult to see other members reach their goal.  Sometimes it brings me sadness and even pain, especially when I see members who joined long after I did make it look so easy.

Then I recall the Masterpiece meeting and the words of my WW leader, Nancy.  "You're working on your masterpiece."  I am reminded to take the time to take the proper steps, incorporating the Good Healthy Guidelines, the tools, the journalling, the exercise, and everything else that has been taught to me in the meetings.  When I plan ahead, when I focus on My Masterpiece, when I visualize my completed masterpiece, things are brought back into focus, and the plan really does feel easier to follow.  It flows -- like a work of art.

My name is Karen Walker and I have attended meetings in Marshfield, MO for a little over 4 years now.  I have lost 80 pounds.  I will reach my goal of 96 pounds.   I have changed my life.  In the beginning I could not physically make it back from my mailbox which was at the bottom of a long country driveway.  Now, people that walk with me beg me to slow down.  I went from wearing a size 22 to a size 10.  I went from taking nearly $200 in prescription medications for everything from depression, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and anxiety and being labelled "pre-diabetic" to being totally medication-FREE, and diabetes is no longer a fear.  I went from working in a low paying job and living paycheck to paycheck to becoming a College Student!  (This is my first time in college since high school, which was OVER 25 years ago!)  I am taking chances and making positive strides in my life like never before.  I am inspiring others.

No, it hasn't happened overnight.  But just like an artist, great masterpieces take time.

I love to cook but always hated cooking for myself. weight watchers has changed that completely. i'm cooking every night and enjoying it!! The smart ones help on days that i don't have time to prepare my lunches for work. i've lost weight and feel i will be able to keep it off this time. i don't feel like i'm on a diet this time. i feel like i'm making life long changes.

I have recently lost 25 pounds, and have 60 to go.  I HAVE LOST 70 POUNDS in the past, but have gained it back on two seperate occasions. This time when I get to my goal its going to stay off!  I have decided to change the way I live and stop all these crazy diets.    I am eating better foods, and cutting back on quanity. Have made several changes on the type of foods I eat.  Much healthier style of eating, is the way to go.  the little changes  have made a diffferance, and I will make more changes as I go along with this life change.   I walk at least 3 miles a day, at least 3 days a week,  somrtimes 4 days  a week.  I am doing this for me and for my 2 children who are 23, and 20 years old. They both need to lose weight also, and instead of talking about it allthe time I need to set an example for them.  The best way to do this is by showing them, and not lecturing them. I have been on this life style change for 3 months now, and will be on it for the rest of my life, this time I am determined to do it the right way, for me and my son and daughter.            Mark

When my thrid baby was 5 months old, I decided it was time to take care of myself.  I knew I needed help, so I looked into joining Weight Watchers.  I talked to a friend of mine who had done it in the past with success and decided to join.  That was April 2008.  I was very nervous to go to my first meeting, not knowing what to expect.  I really had no idea what I weighed, and was a bit surprised to see the number on the scale.  240.6 pounds.  Being barely 5'2" tall, I had over 100 pounds to loose to be at a healthy weight.  It seemed absolutly impossible.  I told myself there was no way I would ever loose that much weight.  But, I hung in there, went to meetings weekly and the weight came off.  Since walking into that first meeting I have lost 97.2 lbs!  I am getting very close to my goal weight now, a place I never thought I would be.  I know there are people that loose at a faster rate, but this has been very doable and lifestyle fit for me.  For me, loosing it fiarly slowly has been key.  And really, my average weight loss has been 1.1 lbs a week, nohing to complain about!  I am looking forward to reaching my weight loss goal and living the rest of my life healthy!

  • Life, REVISED... Life, REVISED...

    • From: elisa615
    • Description:

My entire life has been surrounded by food and weight issues.  Medical conditions have impacted my life because of my unhealthy lifestyle.  I thought I was meant to be fat from the start.  As a child, I knew I was overweight, but didn’t know how to change that.  I grew from an unhappy child to an unhappier adult because of the food and weight issues.  I masked insecurities and depression with food and more food.  Yet, I was always known as the happy, go-lucky girl with a big smile and one dimple in her left cheek.

As I fast forward 20 or so years, with childhood, teen, and young adult memories not tremendously bright; but highlights of happiness with the birth of my daughter, I realized something needed to change and the only one capable of making that change was me.  I think I owe this realization and devotion to changing my life to two people, my daughter and the emergency room doctor that scared the crap out of me when he said I was knocking on death’s door.  I remember lying in ER linked to an EKG, I couldn’t imagine a shortened life; leaving my daughter with just a memory of an unhappy me.  That day I vowed to stop drinking soda’s and my other deadly vice, alcohol.  Almost effortlessly in that first month without soda or alcohol I dropped ten pounds; a first for me, as I have never known “the secret” to weight loss.  At that point I decided I needed help in discovering a new lifestyle.

Losing the mere 10lbs gave me motivation to believe I might be able to do this, but I needed help.  An unhappy, but motivated me at 240lbs, I looked to Weight Watchers; I made the decision that everything I had done in my life prior to that point had not worked for me.  This was a last resort to breaking the mold of what I had forever known.  I tackled the plan, learned it, then implemented it and thought how can I lose weight if I am eating so much?  I was eating breakfast and a mid morning piece of fruit.  My typical lunches of calorie loaded fast-food burgers and tacos were replaced by Smart One’s with a side of steamed veggies.  Dinners have been a struggle but my family and I are no longer eating out at night.

My weight loss was slow, so I added exercise here and there; I tracked every piece of food that crossed my lips.  As I began to feel the difference in my clothes and body I got excited to exercise more and challenge myself.  The dreaded weekly weigh-ins became something I looked forward too.   I went from never working out to working out three times a week.  Then my workouts moved from every other day to everyday.  The intensity of my workouts also increased as I became stronger.

I kept thinking to myself this is my new lifestyle, there is no turning back.  Then one day it happened, the dimple on the right cheek of my face made a grand appearance, for the first time in my life.  It was like a moment I have never known.  I could not stop looking at myself in the mirror and was in tears, because for the first time in my life I made a change for myself that actually worked with positive results in plain view.

At a miserable time in my life I was wearing a size 20 and weighed 250lbs.  I am proud to say I weigh 194lbs and I am able to fit into a size 10; even my shoe size has gone down a half size.  I am not at my goal weight yet, but I see the banners and streamers in the near distance.  I am finally a happier person that is confident, doesn’t hide her smile, and walks tall.  I no longer hide from or behind anything or anyone.  Everyone sees the changes in not just my appearance, but in me.  I feel like I have become a better role model for the person that matters most to me, my daughter.  It took me 30 years to evaluate and destroy my demons.  I am still breaking down some of those demons, but the difference is now I love the beautiful person I have always been.  Thank you Weight Watchers.

Watchers has been the ONLY diet I ever lost weight on. I have always been on a diet and have tried every fad diet out there including Jenny Craig & Seattle Sutton & many more...I have used every excuse in the book to fail diets and not make it to the gym, as I am sure sounds quite familiar to all of you. The nice thing is that I also am able to keep it off because it teaches you a way of life.  I recently lost 42 pounds on weight watchers in just about 6 months just from sticking to it and really from attending meetings.  The meetings really do help my self esteem and give me ideas of how to keep it going and get rid of the day to day boredom of dieting. I have found that the staff is so knowledgeable, and somehow comes up with new and exciting ways every week to help me to stay on track.  When I get busy I just grab the meals and for just a couple dollars or less I have lunch, try finding that a restaurant or fast food chain!  I just love weight watchers and am so proud of my accomplishments and the nice thing is that it happened at such an amazing happy time in my life & just added to the bliss of what was supposed to be post break up blues & I didn't feel blue for even one day!  Weight Watchers is amazing & truly a life changing experience for those still making excuses now is your time!

I have been in a weight watcher's program for a little over a year.  I went from 211 to 176 (have gained a little back due to stressful new job, but working on getting it back off).  From a size 18 to 14.  I feel soooo much better about myself and I am working hard to take off some that I have gained back and working harder toward my lifetime goal that my doctor and I have set.

Weight Watcher's is a wonderful program because I can eat anything I want.  The big difference is that I have learned to eat smaller portions, more healthy - less processed foods, and I absolutely love who I am again!

Smart Ones have helped me get back on track.  Their low prices and great tasting foods have helped me eat a better lunch at work and at home when I don't feel like cooking.  My husband even likes them!
