  • I never thought it was possibl

My name is Jodi, I am 38 yrs old and I am from Columbus, Ohio. In 2004 I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, and had to have my thyroid removed. After 2 surgeries and several radio-active iodine treatments I am nearly cancer free. I'm not sure how long I had been living with a poorly functioning thyroid. Since that time I have been taking my synthroid and had hoped that would help with my weight problems, unfortunatly over the years I had developed poor eating habits and the weight was still coming on.

On November 6, 2008 I joined Weight Watcher's with a friend. I was hesitent and skeptical. I went in with a positive attitude and my eye on the prize. I had tried most of the "new" fad diets and over the counter methods and nothing worked. I was so nervous at the first meeting, I felt sick. I was afraid I was going to fail and wondered what was I doing there? I listened and I learned. I went home with the feeling, I think I can do this !! It all seemed easy enough and doable. The weeks passed and the weight was coming off. I was excited and with the excitement came determination. This really is working !!

Weight Watchers taught me how to eat right, get motivated and stay focued. In the past with other diets it always felt like you have to give up all thing taboo. WW allows you to still have the thing you want but in moderation. I don't think my success would be possible without the SmartOnes products. I work full time and have 2 kids so life can be hectic at times. Planning a WW friendly meal for the whole family is often not possible. I love that I can make a salad and pop in a SmartOnes dinner without the worry of how many points is this? SmartOnes I couldn't have done it without you !!!

It is now the beginning of October 2009 and I have lost a total of 114.4 lbs using the weight watchers plan and eating SmartOnes. Thank You I am eternally greatful !!!

  • Taking CONTROL.. One Day At A

    • Description:

60+ POUNDS lighter so far and definitely taking control of my life, it was a decision I had to make. I'm doing it with a LOT of help from Smart One's dinners too! Loving life & living it to the fullest after fighting and conqueroring cancer 5x.

I've had 3 operations for cancer removal, and 4 different types of cancer. I let my mind, spirit, & body fall apart until one day I woke up and realized that God gave me the GIFT of today... and I'm not opening the package!

I decided it was time to take charge of my life and my body and I haven't looked back since!

I'm a single mom to 3 beautiful kids. Twins (boy/girl) age 17 and oldest daughter age 20 who have been so supportive in my lifestyle change so far. I'm no longer battling the bulge, I'm taking over my body and my kids not only love to watch the transformation, but are my number 1 supporters.

I work out at the gym a MINIMUM of 5x a week but my workouts aren't typical at all. Having a crumbling spine and 8 herniated discs as a result of the treatments for the cancer, I can't work like most on equipment and machines. I opted to created my own workout because I was tired of using the excuse "I can't".  Now I run/jog almost daily 1 mile minimum, do a complete CORE and upper body workout all in the water.  Results are happening, life is changing and I'm finally in charge of myself & my body.

I blog about everything from my battles to my triumphs and love to share recipes I've created, re-designed or simply found.  I hope that my life can inspire someone else like me & if that happens I have done my job.
